Environment - Plumpton Goes Green Team: Overview

 Team Objectives:

The Plumpton Goes Green team is working in two main areas:
  • Reducing Plumpton's carbon footprint. This will include:

    • Developing an information resource about reducing household energy use, installing renewable energy systems, and other actions individuals can take and where to get advice.
    • Exploring energy saving options for village buildings.
      Exploring possibilities for village level renewable electricity generation.
    • Working with the Transport group to improve transport links and make it possible to reduce car use.
    • A new Plumpton Green Fair.
  • Supporting the sustainability of Plumpton as a village community. This will include:
    • Developing a Historic Landscape Characterisation project, to understand better the history
      and future of Plumpton as a village.
    • Supporting local food production (working with the Business Team) and exploring ways
      to share produce.
    • An audit of the skills of the village population.

    Responding to the global challenge of climate change starts at home and in the immediate community. This requires long term commitment. The Plumpton Goes Green team is aiming to help Plumpton find environment-friendly ways to feed and fuel our community for a more sustainable future for your village.
