 Team Objectives:

The Action Plan highlighted a strong interest in improvements in recycling facilities for the village. The Recycling and Village Tidiness Team's role is to identify ways of increasing recycling and reducing litter.

The four key objectives identified in the Action Plan are:
  • To liaise with the council to ensure that our kerbside recycling collection service is maintained and extended where possible;
  • to look into the options of cardboard, plastic and Tetra Pak© recycling in the village;
  • To explore the possibility of a garden compost collection facility;
  • To identify ways to discourage litter and enhance village tidiness.

An important part of the work is talking to the council and other groups responsible for recycling to better understand the current options, and any practical constraints to introducing further recycling – for example the cost and environmental impact of transporting waste. Practical improvements to recycling waste from the village are achievable and the group is determined to make them happen.
