Facilities Team
Team Objectives
Our community and sporting buildings and facilities are the heart of village life. The Village Action Plan wants the best facilities we can practically get for the future. The Facilities Team has been set up to further that aim. The Team is currently working on the following:
- Exploring if there is demand for new clubs and activities in the village and assist existing societies to expand membership.
- Reviewing the facilities available in the village for use by such groups.
- Assessing access to facilities for wheelchairs/mobility scooters/visually impaired.
- Reviewing Play Park area with a view to improvement.
- Reviewing need for update of Sports Pavilion building/sporting facilities.
- Assessing need for youth sporting activities and facilities within the village.
- Providing the Church with data regarding a Sunday school or similar facility - a Sunday School is now operating.
A Clubs/Societies/Activities Fair is planned for 19th April 2009 at the Village Hall to promote existing clubs and assess demand for new or alternative groups.
We are exploring whether grants are available to upgrade existing facilities and make sure our work is properly joined up with other village committees which have a stake in particular facilities.
If anyone is interested in providing assistance or joining the Facilities Team please contact: Beverley Barrell, Team Leader.
