Youth Forum Band Night
May 22nd seems like a long time ago but really for the youth of East Sussex it was a night of fun and music. This report has been sent in by Katie Warren of the Youth Forum:
For those who don’t remember May 22nd was when Plumpton Youth Forum hosted a band night for children and teens all around Plumpton and the surrounding area.
The Youth Forum had to get there early to set up and do the sound checks and blow up balloons, etc. Once the event got started everything ran like clockwork.
First on was Banter, who sang and played so brilliantly the few songs they played like Sweet Child O’ Mine, which was really good, one of their best! After Banter’s brill opening act I sang a couple of songs. I really enjoyed it and most of my friends were there to see me! Next on was the oldest band of the lot who performed a year 10 group. The lead singer Holly performed so well and everyone liked their style of music. After them were Vicky and Seerche from year 9. They sung a couple of songs and a really cool Scouting for Girls duet.
After were a big crowd favourite, Dan Awcock’s band. They were, in my opinion, the best act of the night, tied with Relation. Dan interacted with the crowd really well! Before the final act of the night was solo singer, Rebecca Leggett of year 9. She sung some less modern songs but they blew everyone away with her amazing voice! As for Relation, they stole the show!
We got the impression that everyone really enjoyed the night and as our first bit of action for the Youth Forum we achieved more than we were hoping for!
We owe a massive thanks to everyone who helped out with the sound checks and everything else that needed doing, to Carol and Sam who without them it wouldn’t have happened and to everyone who came to watch and support the bands. We couldn’t have done it without you!
